2024 Spring/Summer Team Tryouts

Tryout time for all grade levels will begin at 10:00am on February 10, 2024 and February 24, 2024

Location: St. Johns Country Day school, 3100 Doctors Lake Drive, Orange Park, FL 32073

All athletes are required to have registration paperwork filled out completely prior to participating in the tryout process. Please note a one time $10.00 registration fee is due at time of tryouts for new participants. Please bring cash or check in this amount payable to MHD Elite Basketball.                                           ***********IMPORTANT************

Parents, please ensure that your athlete has a PROPER amount of sleep and a good meal before attending tryouts. The tryout process is meant to see where your athlete's skill level is currently at and can be rigorous. It will be difficult for your child to fully participate if they are not prepared.

MHD Elite supports all students in their athletic endeavors, to that end, a travel or school basketball game should take precedence over tryouts at this time of year. You are permitted to come late or leave early to meet other obligations and no one will be penalized for missing all or part of a tryout. If you are absolutely unable to make any of the scheduled tryouts please send an email to info@mhdelite.com and we will make arrangements for you to tryout with a different age group.

Please note that this is a closed tryout. This is to promote player and staff safety. No additional people will be permitted in the tryout gym except for players, coaches and evaluators.  Parents will be expected to wait in a designated area or you may pick up your child at the appointed time. This will be strictly enforced.

Please ensure that all participating athletes come prepared in proper attire. 

- T-shirt

- Basketball Shorts

- Basketball Shoes

- Water bottle

- Athletic Braces (if needed)

- Hand Towel (if needed)

- Any medications (if needed)

Upon completion of tryouts and subsequent evaluations, Coaches will contact the parents of the players who have made the team. While coaches can handle this process as they wish, players who do not make a roster will not necessarily be notified directly. If you wish to receive specific feedback on your child's performance during the tryouts and what factors were considered in the decision making process you may contact The Athletic Director Michael Nesmith  at info@mhdelite.com. He will direct your inquiry to the appropriate person for a response.
